The Association of Architectural Aluminium Manufacturers of South Africa (AAAMSA) was founded by eight companies in July 1974 to foster trade and commerce in relation to those persons associated in the manufacture and installation of architectural aluminium structures. Its main objective is to promote commercial and group interest.
Currently the AAAMSA Group administers, beside the architectural aluminium industry, the glass, ceiling and partitioning and insulation industries.
AAAMSA also administers SABISA.
The Aluminium Federation of South Africa (AFSA) is the voice of and the gateway to, the South African Aluminium industry. AFSA’s members are companies operating in any of the various sectors of the industry including:
- Aluminium metal production, both primary and secondary
- Semi-fabrication including extruded and rolled products
- Architectural / building and construction
- Fabrication / general engineering, including welding and bonding – covering a variety of market sectors such as those given below.
- Surface Finishing
- Suppliers to the industry
The Green Building Council South Africa leads the transformation of the South African property industry to ensure that buildings are designed, built and operated in an environmentally sustainable way.
Buildings are one of the main contributors to climate change. Building green is an opportunity to use resources efficiently and address climate change while creating healthier and more productive environments for people and communities.
GBCSA’s mission is to promote, encourage and facilitate green building in the South African property and construction industry through market-based solutions and we are proud to be affiliated with them.
The IID has a number of affiliate and corporate members that have established trade histories and are recognized as suppliers of quality products and services to the Interior Professions industry. They include leading fabric houses, furniture suppliers, bathroom and kitchen manufacturers, curtains makers and upholsterers, to name but a few.
Any company, institution or person who practices a trade or enterprise allied to but not practicing as an Interior Decorator, Interior Designer or Interior Architect may apply for affiliate membership of the Institute. A minimum of 5 years’ trading experience is required.
SABISA is a Trade Association which represents the Ceiling & PartitioningIndustry, in particular its contractors, at Government, SABS and other national forums. Membership offers national recognition by the Built Environment Professions who refer to SABISA’s membership list for appointment of Ceiling &Partitioning Contractors. Members are provided by SABISA guidelines for the installation of Ceiling & Partitioning and these guidelines are frequently used by the Built Environment Professions as specifications as well as basis for dispute resolution.
SAGGA accredited glaziers/contractors are your best protection for ensuring that you, or your client’s, buildings are glazed according to the Application of the National Building Regulations and an excellent way to protect you or your clients, from large damages claims associated with inadequate glazing
The South African Glass and Glazing Association (SAGGA) have accredited installers. These installers are skilled trades people who have agreed to a set code of conduct and who have qualified to apply a SAGGA certificate to any glazing undertaken.
SAPOA, or the South African Property Owners Association, is the representative body and official voice of the commercial and industrial property industry in South Africa.
SAPOA was established in 1966 by the leading and large property investment organisations to bring together all role players in the commercial property field and to create a powerful platform for property investors. Today our members control about 90% of all commercial and combined portfolio in excess of R150 billion.
Members willingly give of their time and benefit from sharing their expertise with other experts. The combined knowledge is a relevant SAPOA platform and has contributed significantly to SAPOA being recognised as the official voice of the commercial property industry in South Africa.
