The Ergosystem group is passionate about many things – but nothing gives us greater satisfaction than knowing we can make a difference to the community.
Following the move to our new Johannesburg premises in Northlands Production Park, we recently donated rolls of foam back fabric to Siphumelele – a home for abandoned and abused children in Kempton Park. Like most such organisations, the home is constantly struggling to raise funds to survive. At the same time, one of the challenges faced by the organisation is finding employment for their children coming of age.
As Bianca van Wyngaard, chairman of Siphumelele explains: We want Siphumelele to become sustainable – this donation of fabric will help us achieve this dream. We can create an opportunity for the school leavers to craft some items which we can sell. The income will be spilt between Siphumelele and the boys making the items.”
They’ve already come to show us some samples – place mats, a tea cosy, a door snake to stop the draft and even coat hanger covers. We wish them every success with the project and encourage anyone willing to support this effort in anyway to contact Bianca on email@example.com or visit their website: www.siphumelele.org
